How to Ensure You Got the Right Person:

* Be prepared for the interview:
Have a list of questions you will ask each candidate. Keeping to the list for each candidate would help you rate candidates better. Do not question about race, religion or ethnic backgrounds.

* You are the face to your organization:
Ensure you listen well and are able to assimilate impressions and analysis well. Also ensure you give the correct picture about the organization to the candidates

* Record the interview:
You may need to record/ take notes of the interview. State it at an appropriate time.

* Know your candidate well:
You should be able to let the candidate know that you know her profile well. Prepare before the interview.

* Create a communication bridge:
Provide an environment which makes candidates open up and talk more.

* Observe, listen and catch those little cues
Be keen to observe the little hidden cues that give you an insight into the true picture about the candidate. Make your questions open-ended to ensure you keep the candidate talking more. Pay attention to the person's personal qualitites.

* Let the candidate ask questions
Towards the end of the allow the candidate to ask questions about the organization. Inform correctly when you would let her know the result of the interview.
